Free email marketing demo - Ewrite Messenger
We’ve been developing our email marking application “eWrite Messenger” for a while now and for a long time I’ve wanted to put a demo online to allow people to try it out.
My main concern was abuse, someone might use the demo to send out emails to a list of addresses. This would need to be limited in some way. It could have been set up to pretend to send any emails however I wanted it to actually send the emails to show it working as much as possible.
My colleague John had a great idea over the Christmas break, to use a disposable email service to allow a demo of eWrite Messenger to actually send out emails without causing any problems.
I contacted Paul Tyma from Mailinator, a great disposable email service. I use it often when singing up for something where I don’t want to give away my real email address. Paul gave me permission to set up eWrite Messenger to send large numbers of emails to the various Mailinator email addresses.
This way, a person interested in trying out eWrite Messenger can create a list which is automatically populated with 100 mailinator email addresses. These addresses are real and their inboxes can be viewed by the user to see that their email arrived, they can even view the email headers.
In this demo, some features and facilities have been removed or disabled. The main functionally is there though so anyone can log in, create or import an email newsletter and send it out to a list.
So if you’d like to give it a test run, log in to the eWrite Messenger demo.
You can also try out our content management system, eWrite Lite.
