Surrey, United Kingdom – 10 August 2026 – Gordon Murray will reveal a new supercar on 14 August at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in California. The global debut will introduce the latest supercar from Gordon Murray Special Vehicles, the division responsible for creating some of the most exclusive, lightweight, driver-focused supercars in the world.
The new model will form the centrepiece of the Gordon Murray display at The Quail, with the global unveiling hosted by Professor Gordon Murray CBE and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti MBE.
It is always a pleasure to return to California, and I am looking forward to sharing our latest Special Vehicles creation with everyone attending The Quail and enthusiasts around the world. We have been working on something very special – I can't wait for the covers to come off.
The forthcoming reveal follows the 2025 launch of the Gordon Murray S1 LM, the first and most exclusive Special Vehicles model. The five ultra-exclusive examples represent a masterpiece of lightweight engineering and timeless design, with iconic design and a bespoke 4.3-litre V12 engine producing 720 PS. Last year, an S1 LM sold for a record-setting $20.6 million at auction, establishing a new benchmark for a contemporary supercar and underlining the exceptional demand for Gordon Murray models, with every programme announced to date being fully sold out.
Joining the new model in California will be the company’s Le Mans GTR supercar, which debuted at The Quail last year. Returning as an Experimental Prototype, ‘XP1’ is now a fully operational development vehicle, fresh from running the Goodwood Hill and its dynamic debut at the Le Mans Classic race in July. Inspired by Professor Murray’s love for longtail endurance racers and powered by a high-revving Cosworth V12 engine, the Le Mans GTR is an uncompromising interpretation of the brand’s lightweight engineering and driver-centric philosophy.
A selection of customer-owned Gordon Murray T.50 supercars will also be displayed around the central lawn exhibit at The Quail, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to see multiple examples of the acclaimed V12 supercar together during Monterey Car Week.
With a sizable proportion of Gordon Murray vehicles destined for the US, Car Week always feels like a second home. Since the S1 LM and Le Mans GTR debuted here last year, we’ve made major progress in their development, and the new model will soon join them on the road to production. I’ve loved driving the Le Mans GTR and beginning the process of dialling in the Driving Perfection that gives every Gordon Murray supercar its distinctive appeal.

Professor Gordon Murray, CBE – Executive Chairman, Gordon Murray Group
Gordon Murray spent 20 years as Technical Director at two Formula One teams (1969–1990), applying deep technical, design, and engineering expertise. At Brabham he was instrumental in two world championship wins in 1981 and 1983, followed by three consecutive championship titles with McLaren Racing in 1988, 1989, and 1990. After 50 Grand Prix wins, he left Formula One in 1990 to establish McLaren Cars Limited.
His first project, the F1 road car, became one of the world’s most respected engineering achievements. Its racing version won two world sports car championships and the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours. McLaren Cars went on to deliver several major programmes, culminating in the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
Gordon left McLaren in 2005 and founded Gordon Murray Design in 2007. The innovative British company quickly became a world leader in automotive design with full in-house capability for design, prototyping, and development.
In 2017, a special ‘One Formula’ event marked the company’s 10-year anniversary and celebrated 25 years of the iconic F1. In May 2019, he was appointed Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to motorsport and the automotive industry.
After founding Gordon Murray, he announced the T.50 supercar in 2019, revealed it globally in 2020, then led development of the T.50s Niki Lauda track car (revealed 2021), the T.33 (unveiled 2022), and the T.33 Spider (first shown 2023). 2025 marked his 60th anniversary of race and road-car design and the launch of the S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR.
